We are spending every last penny we saved on this wedding, but, I have always dreamt of going on a honeymoon to Europe. I haven’t traveled much and am afraid I won’t be able to once we start having kids. And, after the wedding, we need to start saving for a house. So, I was thinking of having a honeymoon fund donation as the only option on a registry. I’m just afraid people will be upset if we do this, or get us things we don’t need. Is anyone else thinking about doing this?

In a similar boat with a destination wedding — folks’ presence is our present, but we’ll likely add a small a registry for the stubborn people. Perhaps breaking it out further into honeymoon activity cash funds will scratch that specific gift feeling for guests (e.g. Dinner for Two on our Honeymoon, Sunset Catamaran Cruise)?

As a guest, I’ve contributed to a honeymoon fund online – Zola I think? It was a fun and convenient way to give to the couple. I appreciated the option to not have to deal with cash at all!
