I’ve been all over the wedding forums and sites to get perspective for this question: do you have to invite extended family?
My partner hasn’t met half of my family, and the other half he’s met less than a handful of times in our five years together — we’re all scattered geographically, and family reunions are rare. We’re opting for a destination wedding which will easily cut the guest list (that’s a whole other post). Is it rude to invite only aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., whom we’ve BOTH met, to our destination wedding? How would you field the inevitable “where’s our invite” questions?
